i am a DocUMENTARY animator, mother and explorer. I endeavour to produce a series of animated autoethnographic essay films, 'meditations' as an exploration of transcultural art in its various manifestations in order to make sense of how we inhabit the world beyond sense-perception and appearance. Gwendolyn Brook is an American poet. Her Children's poetry book 'bronzeville boys and girls' contains characters that emanate the universal spirit of childhood with an immense imaginative freedom.
When I was a child, i never really spoke about my family at school. I wonder why i felt the need to be so secretive and hide my stories. The way that we share stories about our lives is an important aspect of how we relate to those around us. This project will form the basis of an animated documentary so i can re-connect to the past with confidence and authenticity.
